TBA Schooner postcard — label cachet showing a portion of a luncheon menu for passengers aboard a May 1901 sailing of the Norddeutscher [North German] Lloyd shipping company steamship SS Neckar. The illustration is of a schooner. The back of the menu allowed it to be used as a postcard. In 1914, the Neckar sought refuge in the then-neutral port of Baltimore, but it was seized by the U.S. in 1917, converted to a troop carrier and renamed the Antigone. Sales for this issue have been incredible. I recently sent 8 of these variations — about 60 additional Cards — for servicing and even before I'd put them in the mail the next morning, more varieties had sold out! That means there will be another shipment to Cancellation Services.
